The Full Tilt Poker.Net Championship at Red Rock Resort Casino in Las Vegas.

The live event, broadcasted on Fox Sports from the Red Rock Casino in Las Vegas, which was sponsored by Full Tilt, had a star studded final table. The tourney was shown live on Fox Sports and all the hole cards were shown during the action.

The pros earned their seats at this Thanksgiving Day event in July 2006 by winning their respective heats at a qualifying shoot-out tournament, also held at the Red Rock Resort and Casino. Rounding out the field was one of six online qualifiers who all won free trips to Las Vegas after playing online at www.FullTiltPoker.net. Once in Las Vegas, these online qualifiers competed against one another for the opportunity to play in the Thanksgiving Day Event with a guaranteed prize pool of $1 million. The first 5 player’s eliminated from the final table all left with $25,000, with second getting $250,000 and first place getting a cool $600,000.

It took Phil Gordon about 4 hours to win the event as he outlasted De Wolfe, heads up, to take home the $600,000. Gordon, author of three poker books, took out some other big names as well to win the title. The seven-person table included pros Erick Lindgren, Allen Cunningham, John Juanda, Roland De Wolfe, Toto Leonidas and an online qualifier from Sweden.
