The seventh event of the Full Tilt Online Poker Series V featured the first four-figure buy-in. The six-handed no-limit hold’em double-stack event (enough hyphens?) drew 1,282,000, making it the second even in a row to eclipse a one million dollar prize pool. “Reds20” had the chip lead going into the final table after eliminating the seventh place finisher to take his stack over one million chips. He was largely able to stay out of trouble, coasting to heads-up play versus “Round42.” “Round42,” on the other hand, did a lot of damage at the final table. He eliminated the first player at the final table, “Pot Odds,” when he won a race with A-K versus J-J. He made his big move, however, when he took the table captain, “Smokinokun,” down a notch, winning a 630,000 chip pot. He got very aggressive after this, putting the other players to the test time and time again. He knocked out “Fixhult” in 4th place when his A-K bested A-10. At that point, “Round42” was in control, with twice as many chips as his next closest opponent. That opponent, “Reds20,” proceeded to knock out “Smokinokun” in 3rd place, setting up the heads-up match. The two nipped at each other for a while, not really doing much. On the final hand, the two went all-in after a flop of Ah-Kh-8c, “Reds20” with Ac-6s, and “Round42” with Ks-10h. The final two cards were both hearts, however, to gave “Round42” a runner-runner flush and the first prize of more than a quarter-million dollars. Final Table Standings - Round42 -- $262,169.00
- Reds20 -- $173,070.00
- Smokinokun -- $121,790.00
- Fixhult -- $91,022.00
- JSchnett -- $65,382.00
- Pot Odds -- $42,947.00
