FTOPS V Event #10 – “lileor99” Wins Seven Card Stud

Wow.  A stud event at FTOPS V.  Shocking.  And a “name” pro made the final table.  Max Pescatori, the Full Tilt Poker host of one of the upcoming FTOPS events, excited the railbirds by making the final eight, but he as not able to go all the way, leaving in 4th place.  The player that ended up besting the field of almost 600 was lileor99, who won just short of $30,000.

The short stack going into the final table, KCRobWW, was also the first one eliminated, falling to the champ in 8th place.  POP-it-UP, who lost a chunk of change to Pescatori, fell to the table’s original chip leader, ema_aa88, to place 7th.

But ema_aa88 just gave chips away after that.  The poor sport of the table, talking trash to anyone and everyone, bowed out in 6th place.

Event 4 winner, bmqball saw his quest for a second FTOPS crown end when he, too, was victimized by lileor99.  lileor99 had to get a little lucky, hitting two pair on sixth street to beat bmqball’s better pocket pair.

Lileor99 got lucky again a bit later against Pescatori, making a flush on seventh street to come from behind in the hand, crippling the “Italian Pirate.”  Pescatori was eliminated in 4th place shortly thereafter.

Three handed, lileor99 and bluff27allin were about tied with over 700,000, while wildcatsfan69 was sitting with a 200,000 chip stack.  The short stack eventually was all-in against bluff27allin with two pair, but bluff27allin had made a straight on sixth street to win the pot and send wildcatsfan69 to bed.

With blinds at 25,000/50,000 to start heads-up play, any single hand could completely change the tournament, as there were less than 2 million chips in play.  Not too long into heads-up, lileor took a 2-to-1 lead after winning more than a million chips on two hands combined.  Bluff27allin found a spot to get all his chips in with a decent hand – a pair of Queens, plus a flush draw and a gut-shot straight draw – but lileor99 already had the hand won when the chips went in on fifth street, as he had a boat.

Final Table Standings

  1. lileor99 -- $29,850.00
  2. bluff27allin -- $19,701.00
  3. wildcatsfan69 -- $11,940.00
