Last October, the Foxwoods Resort Casino announced that it would be expanding its poker room, slating the grand re-opening for this spring. Now, to go along with the extra tables, features, and amenities, the poker room will now be stamped with the World Poker Tour (WPT) brand name.
That’s right. The world is about to have its first WPT-branded poker room.
As reported here in October, the new room will hold 114 tables and will be chock-full of player-friendly technology, such as LED displays, automatic shufflers, and a computerized seat-monitoring system. Additionally, WPT CEO Steve Lipscomb said that the entire room would be designed in a way that “evokes the cool, classy, charismatic character of our show.”
So, now the WPT has its name on a table game, slot machines, and both an online and brick and mortar poker room. Next step…profitability!
