Poker fans are going to like the final television table at the main event of the Five Diamond World Poker Classic. The $15,000 buy-in “Doyle Brunson North American Poker Classic,” as this specific event is called, went past three o’clock in the morning to determine the six finalists, but when the smoke cleared, we were left with a great cast, led by one of the most popular players on tour, a European Poker Tour champ, and a World Series of Poker champ.
The final table lines up like this:
1. Daniel Negreanu -- 4,670,000 chips (Seat 1) – 2004 Player of the Year and three time WSOP bracelet winner 2. Mads Andersen -- 4,310,000 (Seat 6) – 2006 EPT Scandinavian Open champion 3. Joseph Hachem -- 2,345,000 (Seat 3) – 2005 WSOP Main Event champion 4. Edward Jordan -- 2,320,000 (Seat 5) – 2006 Foxwoods Poker Classic final tablist 5. David Redlin -- 2,040,000 (Seat 4) – 2006 NPL-Vegas Open winner 6. Jim Hanna -- 1,820,000 (Seat 2)
The top two finishers are guaranteed over $1 million, with $2,182,075 going to the player with all of the chips in the end. As is the case with every WPT final table, the blinds and antes will be high (40K, 80K, 10K), so action should be fast and furious.
The tournament will resume at five o’clock in the evening on Tuesday, Pacific time.
