My Eyes Feel Much Better Now

It is no secret that online poker room, Absolute Poker, has received some flak in the past for its horrendously ugly tables. That nightmare-inducing carpet was enough to make anyone’s eyes scream. Recently, Absolute toned it down a bit, making the carpet less busy and converting to a more neutral tone, but it still wasn’t great.
Today, however, Absolute Poker introduced brand new table skins, or “mods,” as some poker players like to call them, so that players can customize the look of their tables. Don’t like the standard carpet? Change it to deep red. Want green felt? There you go. How about just a background with no table? That’s there, as well. There are almost thirty skins currently available.
All it takes is a point-and-click download from Absolute Poker’s table skins page:

Additionally, from now until December 15, Absolute Poker will be accepting table designs from its players, with the player whose design is judged the best receiving $500. There are full instructions on how to create your own custom skin right on the site.
Credit should be given where credit is due here. Absolute Poker heard the complaints from its customers and listened. This is a great example of a poker room caring about its players and doing what it can to make them happy.
