Eurolinx announced today that, effective immediately, it has switched networks from the Tain Network to the Microgaming Poker Network. The poker room says the decision was made primarily because of increased market consolidation and Microgaming’s high quality software.
The market consolidation referenced is most likely Tain’s upcoming merger with Tribeca Tables, which, in turn, will merge into the Playtech network. Both Tribeca and Playtech have closed to U.S. customers, so Eurolinx probably made the move in order to stay in the U.S. market. Former Tain poker room, PokerShare, also made the move to Microgaming in late 2006.
As an interesting side note, Eurolinx actually solicited opinions from its players on which network to join, which gives them the benefit of keeping more customers in the transition than they may have otherwise been able to keep.
