Devilfish Poker to Switch Networks

Devilfish Poker, named after its headliner, David “Devilfish” Ulliott, is switching networks, moving from UltimateBet’s network to the Entraction (24h) network.  The migration will take place during the second quarter of 2008.

In moving to Entraction, Devilfish Poker will actually see the traffic at its cash tables more than halved and it will no longer have Americans at its tables.  On the surface, this may look like an odd strategy, but when one reads between the lines, it could have something to do with the recent scandal at UB’s sister site, Absolute Poker, as well as the potential cheating scandal looming over UB.  Take the following statement by Devilfish Gaming CEO, Paul Barnes:

“We conducted a thorough due diligence of several poker networks before deciding to join Entraction. Entraction meets our high standards regarding the gaming experience and it is important to us to conduct business with a regulated and secure poker provider.”

Could this be a jab at UltimateBet?  Perhaps.  Perhaps not.  But something must not be quite right with Devilfish Gaming’s current deal.
