Daniel Negreanu to Leave Full Contact Poker?

Rumors are swirling about the internet that Daniel Negreanu may be ready to leave behind the online poker room which he stared, Full Contact Poker (FCP).  Word is that FCP may have become wary of using professional players as endorsers because of potential legal trouble in the U.S., as was the case with Absolute Poker and UltimateBet.

One could also easily conjecture that Negreanu may be simply looking for greener pastures.  FCP’s network, the Digital Gaming Network, is extremely light on traffic, and can’t be bringing in much revenue compared to its competitors.  Additionally, inking a deal with one of the big boys will probably result in Negreanu getting his major tournament buy-ins paid for, eliminating a significant chunk of expenses.

It will be interesting to see what FCP’s customers do if Negreanu does move.  Even though traffic on the network is low, he has a very loyal following on his message board.  Negreanu himself stays in touch with his fan base through postings and video blogs.
