And this relates to poker how?
Companies will do anything to capitalize on a trend. Now riding the wave of poker’s popularity: MissPokerFace.com.
It’s a beauty competition with poker in the name. Ok, sure, there is a poker aspect to the competition, but all it does is water down the beauty competition.
Here is how it works. Women are asked to submit photos and bios to the website. A representative from a “leading London model agency,” as well as Managing Directors from Miss Poker Face International and its media partners, will then select ten of the women (solely based on looks) to play in a single table poker tournament. The winner of this tournament, to be played in London in March 2007, will be named Miss Poker Face. She will receive a modeling contract from the “leading London model agency” and all expense paid trip to Las Vegas to compete in the 2007 World Series of Poker.
The first and second runners up will receive all expense paid trips to compete in a European poker event.
What a great opportunity. Get considered based on looks and win based on luck! Splendid!
