Calvin Ayre, the lively and controversial founder and CEO of Bodog, has announced his retirement.  Reporting from his blog last week, Ayre said that nothing about Bodog itself will change – he just won’t be there anymore.

Alwyn Morris and Morris Mohawk Gaming Group purchased Bodog in North America, and even before that, most of the company’s operations were moved to Europe.  Thus, the operations won’t be in shock from any sort of sudden change.

Ayre plans to spend time with The Calvin Ayre Foundation, as well as continuing to enjoy traveling around the world.
