Online gaming site, Bodog.com, has posted its betting lines for the 2007 World Series of Poker, which begins next week. There are no odds on who specifically will win the Main Event, as anyone who does not pick the field is betting foolishly, but Bodog did come up with some creative proposition and “last longer” bets. Some of the more interesting prop bets include: - Who will win his 11th bracelet: Doyle Brunson (6/1), Johnny Chan (3/1), Phil Hellmuth (9/5), or none of them (11/10).
- Which pairing will win the most combined money in the $50,000 H.O.R.S.E. event and Main Event: Brunson/Chip Reese, Phil Ivey/Daniel Negreanu, David Williams/Michael Mizrachi, or Allen Cunningham/John Juanda (all 2/1).
- Which family will win the most money in the Main Event: Doyle and Todd Brunson (5/2), Marco Traniello and Jennifer Harman (5/2), Barry Greenstein and Joe Sebok (3/2), or Annie Duke and Howard Lederer (3/1).
And a sampling of the “last longer” bets for the Main Event: - Past Champions: Joe Hachem (4/1), Chris Moneymaker (11/1), Jamie Gold (12/1), Greg Raymer (7/2), Doyle Brunson (5/1), Phil Hellmuth (7/2), Chris Ferguson (11/2), or Juan Carlos Mortensen (3/1).
- Past Runners-up: Steve Dannenmann (5/1), David Williams (3/2), Paul Wasicka (3/2), Sam Farha (5/1), or T.J. Cloutier (5/1).
- The 2004 Cajones Confrontation: Greg Raymer or Mike Matusow (both -120).
- The Phils: Ivey (-140) or Hellmuth (even).
- Canadians: Negreanu (6/5), Gavin Smith (6/5), or Brad Booth (3/2).
- Ladies: Harman (3/1), Duke (11/2), Kathy Liebert (5/2), Jennifer Tilly (5/1), Cyndy Violette (5/1), Isabelle Mercier (5/1), or Clonie Gowen (5/1).
These are just a sampling of the bets that can be placed on the WSOP at Bodog this year. The maximum single bet allowed is $100, so for most online gamblers, it could be a fun way to create a rooting interest while not breaking the bank. Originally published 11:01 PM Tuesday, May 22, 2007
