Bodog.com Points-to-Trash?

Online poker room, Bodog.com, is currently running a promotion where players can convert their poker points into cash. Competitor UltimateBet.com has done this before and it was received very positively.

And, on the surface, Bodog’s promotion would seem to be a good one, too. After all, players already earn deposit bonuses by accumulating poker points, so the ability to trade in those points for extra money would be great. Too bad this promotion is not really all that great.

The basics of the points-to-cash promotion are simple. A player can receive $10 for every 667 poker points, up to $200 total. Just go to http://www.bodog.com/promotions/poker/points/, click on the “Cash in Now” button, and away you go.

But here’s the catch. The “cash” isn’t really cash at all. It is just more bonus money, requiring three poker points per dollar to be earned before it can be cashed out. Bodog.com already offers a bottomless ten percent bonus on all deposits, so this just adds to that bonus account. Plus, it does not even clear concurrently with deposit bonuses.

Bodog makes this points-for-cash promotion sound like a fantastic deal, but it really is not. Might as well use your points for tournament entries, instead.
