Bodog Poker has unveiled a new look to its virtual poker tables, making it cleaner and smoother than before. It is not a quantum leap beyond what it had been before, and the rest of the software has not changed, but it definitely gives Bodog a unique look. Bodog has kept its non-poker table look, as instead of a round or ovular table with some sort of casino background as most other rooms have, players are presented with a simple, rectangular window. Each seat is sectioned off by lines on the felt, rather than by chairs, which results in nice, wide spacing. Player avatars sit in the middle of these sections, along with the player name and chip stack. Face-down hole cards are much easier to see in front of opponents than before, as they are now larger and placed about halfway in between the player’s name and the middle of the table. There is no question as to who has folded and who is still in the hand. The cards themselves are about the same as before, but cleaned up a bit and easier to read. Combined with this “non-linear” way in which the seats are laid out is a spotlight that shines on each player in turn. The smooth way in which the spotlight moves makes it very easy to follow the action and is an interesting way to highlight each player. When you actually take a seat at a table, the table is automatically rotated so you are at the bottom, and instead of having the same avatar, chip stack, and card layout as the other players, you are presented with a “dashboard” which displays your bet size window and action buttons. Bodog says that more new features will be rolled out for other parts of the software as they are completed.
