BetOnSports, one of the largest online sports books with nine different brands, has joined the Tribeca Tables poker network, a move designed to allow BetOnSports to achieve critical mass with its poker customer base quicker than it could otherwise on its own.
The company actually had poker brands already, including BoSPoker.com and MillPoker.com, but they were not part of any network. Joining the 11th largest online poker network (source: pokerpulse.com) not only multiplies the number of people playing at its tables, but it also gives BetOnSports a new poker interface. The new software will make it easier for players used to the other Tribeca rooms, which include Doyles Room and , to try out BetOnSports’ poker offerings. This change could come at the expense of current customers, however, as some may not like the new network or software, but this remains to be seen.
The move will also benefit Tribeca Tables. According to Tribeca’s Steve Cook, “Everyone at Tribeca is extremely pleased to welcome BetOnSports. BetonSports is our first significant sports brand to join the network and bring a new dimension of players to the poker world. As you know, there is a very close synergy between sport bettors and poker players that will truly add value to our aggregator.”
