It may not be a completely happy ending, but it’s better than it was less than two weeks ago. Arrests have been made in last weekend’s mugging of an American poker player in Melbourne, Australia. Twenty-two year-old Jason Potter, who is known in online poker circles as “JP OSU,” was mugged earlier near his hotel in Melbourne, Australia after cashing out his winnings from the Aussie Millions poker tournament. All told, he lost $30,000. He had made the short walk from the Crowne Plaza Hotel to the Crown Casino to convert his chips into cash at around 4:30am. On the way back to the hotel, he made a quick stop at a McDonald’s for a late-night snack. It was after this stop that he was clubbed from behind, threatened with a knife, and robbed of his cash. Thursday night in Australia, Melbourne detectives arrested Dwayne Johnstone, 32, and Vhyharn Arumughasamy, 26. Johnstone was charged with armed robbery, assault and drug possession, while Arumughasamy was charged with armed robbery. Potter said that authorities have told him that they have recovered $11,850 of the $30,000.
