Amarillo Slim Evades Robbery

Legendary poker player "Amarillo Slim"� Preston began his poker career facing danger around every corner. You would have thought that the days of having to carry a gun to protect your bankroll were over. Apparently that's not so for Preston.

Last Wednesday morning, Preston was driving in, fittingly, Amarillo, when he got cut off by a yellow vehicle. A passenger from that vehicle then got out, approached Preston's car, pulled out a gun, and demanded money. Just as he's not apt to hand over his money at the poker table, he was not about to give this punk any money, either.

Preston floored it in reverse, only to be shot at three times. That's right. The guy not only tried to rob Amarillo Slim, but he also tried to murder him. Two of the bullets appeared to have struck his car.

As if that wasn't enough. The assailant got back in the car and the vehicle then chased Preston for a few minutes before Slim lost them and called for help.

Amarillo Slim was not hurt in the incident.
