After doing its best to build up the anticipation, Absolute Poker has launched its new loyalty program, dubbed “Fame.” As many expected, it is a clone of its sister site’s, UltimateBet, “RAI$E” program. AP players can earn “credits” for playing raked hands in real money cash games or participating in tournaments. Credits are earned faster at higher stakes. At certain credit thresholds, players move up the Fame ranks. Higher ranks (there are five in all) offer more benefits as a reward for heavy play. At the lowest level, Bronze, there are really no benefits outside of what players got before the Fame system was implemented. Move up to Silver, which is easy with fairly minimal play in any given month, and players can exchange credits for tournament entries and gasoline. At the Gold level, players can create their own tournaments, use their credits to gain access to special events, exchange credits for up to $50 in cash each month, and shop in the rewards store. At the Platinum VIP level, the credits-for-cash limit is increased to $250 and players gain access to a VIP host, a 10% store discount, and exclusive tournament invitations. At the highest level, Diamond Elite, more VIP “treats” and invitations are added, and players have the opportunity to earn 9% on their deposits. All in all, Fame is nothing overly special, particularly because it already exists under a different name at UltimateBet. The most valuable features seem to be the exclusive freerolls, the limited points-for-cash, and faster bonus earning rates at higher status levels.
