The arena of guaranteed prize pool poker tournaments is becoming more and more competitive, particularly as online poker rooms scramble to win customers and survive in an increasingly harsh industry. To that point, Absolute Poker and Party Poker have added new guaranteed prize pool offerings to their schedules.
Party Poker, once one of the rooms to go to for big dollar tournaments, has added a $300,000 guaranteed on Sundays at 12:45pm EST. The buy-in is $215. As with most expensive tournaments, Party Poker will be holding daily satellites, as well. There will be five multi-table satellites: one $11 tournament, one $11 re-buy tournament, and three $3 re-buy tournaments. There will also be Sit-and-Go satellites of the $26, $66, and $120 varieties, with sub-satellites for the $26 Sit-and-Go’s.
Absolute Poker is adding a $50,000 Sunday tournament as well as increasing the prize pool in its Saturday $100,000 guaranteed to $150,000. The Sunday tournament begins at 8:00pm EST and costs $162, while the Saturday tournament begins at 4:30pm EST and costs $216 to enter.
