Absolute Poker to Give Away Semester’s Tuition

Online poker room Absolute Poker has announced that it will award a semester of tuition to one skilled college student in a special tournament this spring. On May 26, the site will host the “College Poker Challenge”, a special tournament only for college and university students, with the tuition prize going to the ultimate winner.

The tournament will be capped at 2,000 participants and is free to all eligible students. If more than 2,000 people sign up, satellite tournaments will be held starting May 20 to narrow the field. The winner of each satellite will qualify for a drawing to win a $1,000 scholarship.

"We anticipate a few thousand players will be vying for the prize," stated Gian Perroni, Poker Room Manager. "We came up with the idea for the tournament because we at Absolute poker haven't forgotten how expensive it is to go to school, and we thought this would be a great prize for someone. Free tuition will certainly allow our winner a few less sleepless nights during what can be a tough school year."

Additional information on the tournament can be found at http://www.absolutepoker.com/college/main_tuition2.asp.
