Press Release: Ladbrokes' LEOCOP Gives Players a Big Break
Ladbrokespoker.com, will give main event LEOCOP III players a well deserved rest this weekend by breaking and starting final table play the following day.
The $750,000 guaranteed main event traditionally hosted over a day, has now been extended to two to incorporate an overnight break.
Edward Ihre, newly appointed MD of Ladbrokespoker.com commented:
"We want players to win tournaments at Ladbrokespoker.com because they play poker well, not because they can outlast other players in what is tantamount to an endurance test! We're keen for our LEOCOP main event to be more about the skill of the poker player and not about their bodies’ ability to cope with near exhaustion. This way of thinking is also more in keeping with how world class offline events are ran and importantly railbirders will be given the opportunity to watch the final table in real time. I don't think it will be long before others follow our lead!"
Studies show that tiredness can affect judgment, efficiency and the ability to analyze situations properly and make measured decisions, which many agree are essential elements to playing good poker!
The main event in its third year was won by Grazza from London last year ($230,000) and is frequented by many of the great Europe wide online players. Up to 5000 people are expected to play the main event which starts at 16.00 BST.
