Published: Thursday, October 27, 2005

Harrah’s has announced the schedule for the 2006 World Series of Poker (WSOP), to once again be played at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. Satellites will begin on June 25, with the first tournament, the Casino Employee No-Limit Event, to be held the following day. The first event open to the public, the $1,500 No-Limit Hold’em event, will start on June 27.

July 28 marks the first day of the $10,000 Main Event, scheduled to run for two weeks, concluding August 10. The first “day” is anticipated to be divided into four “flights” to accommodate the large number of entrants. Following the first four flights, the second “day” will be split in half. There will then be a day off before the Main Event continues.

The full 2006 WSOP schedule will be posted here soon.
